This past Thursday, the Tennessee Highway Safety Office announced $33.5 million in federal grant funds to be distributed statewide from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for the 2024–2025 federal fiscal year.
Over 390 federal grants exceeding $33 million in total have been awarded to law enforcement agencies and highway safety partners across Tennessee.
Local grants included…Pulaski Police Department for Impaired Driving Enforcement, $22,000.00, Loretto Police Department for High Visibility Enforcement, $10,000.00, Tennessee District Attorney General, 22nd Judicial District for DUI Prosecution, $281,989.02, Petersburg Police Department for High Visibility Enforcement, $10,000.00, Columbia Fire and Rescue for Emergency Medical Services, $12,500.00, Columbia Police Department for Police Traffic Services (Multiple Violations) $28,500.00, Maury County Sheriff’s Department for Police Traffic Services (Multiple Violations), $31,212.00, Mount Pleasant Police Department for High Visibility Enforcement, $9,958.00, and Spring Hill Police Department for Impaired Driving Enforcement, $65,000.00.
Approximately 4 million in media grant funds will be allocated for statewide highway safety education and public awareness campaigns.
