An individual riding a four-wheeler discovered the body of a 59-year-old Hazel Green man Saturday in a cornfield off Old Baptist Road in Lincoln County.
Although officials say it appears to have been suicide from ingestion of narcotics, the body has been sent to Nashville for an autopsy.
A passerby noticed the victim’s vehicle Friday. The motor vehicle was spotted by a person who called the sheriff’s department.
Deputies went to check the vehicle and to see it was reported stolen, but it was not. The next day the body was found in a nearby cornfield.
There were felony warrants on the man out of Madison County, he fled Alabama after domestic violence charges.
