Devoted Son, Loving Daddy, Wordsmith, Musician and Teller of all Tales.
Born in Memphis, TN to Rufus and Letha Huff, he spent his early years in shuffling about due to his Father’s work in Arkansas. He graduated from Stuttgart High School. During his time there, he formed a rockabilly band in 1956-57; “Eddie & The Rebels” where he was lead guitarist and talented singer. The band made 1 record during their time together, but remained life long friends. His love of music and performance never waned throughout his life.
In 1960, he married Judy Flowers (Deceased) and his two daughters were born; Laurie Jo Huff (62) of Las Vegas, NV and Lezli Da’Non Dillon (57) (Kevin) of Novato, CA.
In his newly adopted home of Greenhill, Al where we moved in 1971, he was a machinist welder by trade and worked for TVA and R.J. Reynolds. In his spare time, he could build you a house, barn, paint you a picture, make muscadine wine, invent games, was a naturopath before his time, a collector of all things; including any strays left on the hill off “Huff Holler”. A true Renaissance man who cherished his daughters all of his life. His strength, humor and tender heart will be missed forever.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Rufus & Letha Huff; Half-brother Everett Carter Jr. and his Sister-in-law, Lydia (Ann) Carter; Sister Ann Glover and Brother-in-law Donald Glover; Sister Carolyn Butler (Reed) and Brother-in-law, Dennis Chandler (Sue).
