Fire Destroys Home and Claims A Family Pet In Lawrencburg

A house fire destroyed a home and caused the death of a family pet Thursday in Lawrence County.

Lawrence County Fire Rescue received a call late Thursday to a residence on fire with people possibly trapped inside.

When units arrived, the back of a two-story home was engulfed with fire.

An additional fire engine from Lawrenceburg arrived on the scene, as did several fire units from New Prospect.

First responders were able to get in contact with the homeowners and learned that there was no one in the home.

Lawrence County Fire Rescue said it took nearly four hours to the clear the scene.
