Recycler Of The Year Awards Honor Local Recycler

The 2024 Recycler of the Year Awards were recently hosted by the Tennessee Recycling Coalition.

Middle Tennessee was represented well during the awards ceremony, as Sanitation department manager and Lawrence County solid waste director for the city of Lawrenceburg and Lawrence County, Gary Wayne Hyde, took home this year’s top leader award.

The Tennessee Recycling Coalition said that Hyde has spent over 40 years in the industry.

In 2015, Hyde’s department was awarded the Governor’s Environmental Stewardship Award for materials management.

Seven years later, Hyde was awarded the Tennessee Solid Waste Director of the Year award.
