One Person Dies In The Tennessee River Over Holiday Weekend

One person has died following a water rescue in Decatur over the Labor Day holiday weekend.

According to Limestone County Coroner Mike West, a man was pulled from the water at Riverwalk Marina. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers with the Decatur Police Department first responded to the marina early Sunday regarding a missing person. The body was recovered from the Tennessee River a short time later.

According to authorities, two men reportedly went into the water and only one man came up.

The incident remains an ongoing investigation.
