Giles County Grown Hay Does Well in the State Fair Hay Crop Exhibit @ the Wilson County Fair.
Giles County was well represented in the Tennessee State Fair Hay Crop Exhibit. Gary Underwood of the Lynnville community submitted the best entry of cool season annual grass square bale hay. Gary’s First place entry was a sample of annual ryegrass.
Three other Giles County entries placed in the top 10 of the square bale orchard grass lot, Lee Gilmore of the Beech Hill Community placed 2nd, Gary Underwood placed 8th, and Lauris Gillespie of the Olivet Community placed 9th. Gilmore also placed 3rd in the round bale legume lot with an entry of alfalfa.
These hay exhibits along with many other agriculture exhibits will be on display through August 24th at the State Fair which is a partner with the Wilson County Fair and is located at the Fairground in Lebanon, Tennessee.
