Friends Of Lawrence County Animals Visit Lawrenceburg Rotary

Leigh Ann Pettus and Ginger Morgan with Friends of Lawrence County Animals (FOLCA) visited the Lawrenceburg Rotary Club on Friday, August 9, 2024.  FOLCA is a 501c3 organization dedicated to improving the lives of domestic animals in Lawrence County. It is the fund-raising arm of the new animal shelter and provides financial assistance to spay or neuter Lawrence County animals for those who need it. The shelter is jointly funded by local government and FOLCA. MS Pettus updated the club on SNIPS, the organization’s spay and neuter program that has treated 750 animals in the last two years.  Ginger Morgan became the animal shelter’s director in October, 2023.  She described the benefits of developing a play yard for dogs at the shelter, and other projects that are on the animal shelter’s wish list.
