LAWRENCE COUNTIANS HEADED TO THE POLLS ON THURSDAY FOR THE STATE AND FEDERAL PRIMARY AND THE COUNTY GENERAL ELECTION. A TOTAL OF 1902 VOTERS PARTICIPATED, A 7 PERCENT TURNOUT.

CANDITATES WINNING UNOPPOSED ON THE GENERAL ELECTION BALLOT INCLUDED BILL ADAMS FOR SCHOOL BOARD DISTRICT 1 WITH 194 VOTES, JERRY DRYDEN FOR SCHOOL BOARD DISTRICT 4 WITH 190 VOTES, JANET ALEXANDER FOR SCHOOL BOARD DISTRICT 7 WITH 188 VOTES AND CHAD SHANNON FOR SCHOOL BOARD DISTRICT 8 WITH 114 VOTES. JULIE HEFFINTON FOR CIRCUIT COURT DISTRICT 22 WITH 1463 VOTES AND JOHN BRADY HUTTON FOR ASSESSOR OF PROPERTY WITH 1578.

IN THE REPUBLICIAN PRIMARY – PAGE WALLEY, CLAY DOGGET, KIP CAPLEY AND STACEY HARDIN BREWER EACH RAN UNOPPOSED AND SCOTT DESJARLAIS WON IN THE PRIMARY RACE FOR US HOUSE DISTRICT 4 WITH 69 PERCENT OF THE VOTE AT 1047. MARSHA BLACKBURN TOOK 91.5 PERCENT OF THE REPUBLIC PRIMARY VOTE AGAINST TRES WITTUM FOR THE US SENATE POSITION AND ON THE DEMOCRATIC BALLOT, GLORIA JOHNSON TOOK 79 PERCENT FOR THE US SENATE POSITION WITH 223 VOTES.

ALSO IN THE DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY – VICTORIA BRODERICK, JASON LUTTRELL AND TIM COY EACH RAN UNOPPOSED.
