Harritte Ann Allred Sutton was born August 18, 1931, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee to Grady Newton Allred and Eula Watson Allred.
Harritte died peacefully on July 14, 2024 in Chatuge Regional Nursing Home in Hiawassee, GA. She will be remembered by friends and family as a caring, loving, and generous Christian lady. She was a mother and homemaker first though she worked outside the home at various times. She worked with Dr. Norman L. Henderson for several years and loved helping him take care of his patients. She was active in the Seventh Day Adventist Church where she served teaching Sabbath School, church treasurer, and a Pathfinders youth group leader.
Harritte was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 59 years, Sherman Sutton Jr., and six siblings, James Allred, Charles Allred, Nadine Allred, Grady “Sonny” Allred, Kathryn A. Hume, and Bobby Allred. She is survived by her son, Gary Sutton of Hiawassee, GA, and daughter, Dianne Stark of Graysville, TN; Sisters Betty Joe Daniel and Elizabeth (Fagan) Sneed both of Pulaski, TN; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews that were like her own children.
Visitation will be held from 1:00pm-2:00pm on Saturday, August 10th, at the Lawrenceburg Seventh-day Adventist Church with a memorial service to follow at 2:00pm.
