Ruby Christine Smith

Ruby Christine Smith, age 84, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, TN.  She was a native of Lawrence County, TN, retired bus driver with Lawrence County Head Start, and a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church. She loved to work in her yard, color, and paint.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Selma Alline Clifton Thompson; one son, Johnny David “Bubber” Smith; two sisters, Marie Smith and Charlotte Brooks; and one brother, Virgil Clifton.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, John Wesley Smith of Lawrenceburg, TN; one daughter, Debbie Newton (Jerry) of Lexington, AL; one son, Randy Smith (Stephanie) of Lawrenceburg, TN; one grandson, Wesley Troppello of Lawrenceburg, TN; several step-siblings; several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Neal Funeral Home.  Graveside services and interment will be conducted at Cedar Hill Cemetery at 1:30 PM Tuesday, July 23, 2024, with David Simmerman officiating.  Condolences may be sent by way of our website at www.nealfuneralhome.net.
