A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS SPUN UP AN EF0 TORNADO AND DOWNED NUMEROUS TREES IN LAWRENCE COUNTY ON MONDAY. THE LINE WAS PART OF A FAST-MOVING COLD FRONT THAT CROSSED THE COUNTY IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS ON DECEMBER 6. THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ISSUED A TORNADO WARNING FOR WAYNE AND LAWRENCE COUNTY AT 6:32 AM BASED ON DATA FROM THE TENNESSEE VALLEY WEATHER CHANNEL’S DOPLAR RADAR IN LAWRENCEBURG. AFTER REVIEWING RADAR DATA AND PHOTOS SUBMITTED BY LAWERENCEBURG/LAWRENCE COUNTY EMA, THE WEATHER SERVICE IN NASHVILLE CONFIRMED THAT AN EF0 TORNADO WITH 70 MPH WINDS LEFT A DAMAGE PATH 25 YARDS WIDE AND 500 YARDS LONG AT POND FIELD ROAD. STRAIGHT LINE WINDS ALSO LEVELLED AN OUTBUILDING ALONG WATERLOO ROAD. THE LAWRENCEBURG UTILITY SYSTEM REPORTED A POWER DISRUPTION AFFECTING 155 CUSTOMERS FOLLOWING THE STORM. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED FROM THIS EVENT.
