EMERGENCY PERSONNEL IN MAURY COUNTY WERE CALLED TO AN ODOR OF GAS OUTSIDE A RESIDENCE TUESDAY EVENING WHERE SEVERAL INDIVIDUALS WERE FORCED TO EVACUATE. CREWS FROM SPRING HILL FIRE DEPARTMENT ND MAURY COUNTY EMS RESPONDED TO THE HOME ON JACKSON STREET AROUND 5:30. UPON ARRIVAL IT WAS RECOGNIZED THAT THERE WAS A NATURAL GAS LEAK. ATMOS ALONG WITH MAURY COUNTY OFFICE OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AND SPRING HILL POLICE DEPARTMENT WERE THEN DISPATCHED TO THE AREA AND DUE TO THE HIGH LEVELS OF GAS 18 CITIZENS WERE EVACUATED. A MAURY COUNTY SCHOOL BUS WAS USED TO TRANSPORT THE INDIVIDUALS TO SPRING HILL CITY HALL. ATMSO WAS ABLE TO LOCATE AND MITIGATE THE LEAK AND CITIZENS WERE TRANSPORTED BACK TO THEIR RESIDENCES A FEW HOURS LATER.
