STATE REP. CLAY DOGGETT ON THURSDAY VISITED THE TN VALLEY WEATHER CENTER IN LAWRENCEBURG TO PRESENT THE WEATHER RADAR FOUND OF THE TENNESSEE VALLEY A CHECK FOR $200, 000 WHICH HE HELPED SECURE AS PART OF A 42.6 BILLION DOLLAR BALANCED BUDGET IN MAY. THE FUNDING CAME FROM AN APPOPRIATION GRANT AND WILL BE APPLIED TO THE RADAR FOUNDATION’S NOTE FOR THE RADAR’S TOTAL PROJECT COST. THE WEATHER RADAR FOUNDATION OF THE TENNESSEE VALLEY IS A 501 C3 WHICH WAS ORGANIZED IN 2020 FOLLOWING LAWRENCE COUNTY BEING STRUCK BY TWO EF-1 TORNADOS. THE FOUNDATION HAS COMPLETED ONE DOPPLER RADAR IN LAWRENCEBURG AND IS THE PLANNING STAFGES FOR THEIR NEXT PHASE IN SEVERE STORM DETECTION AND ANALYZATION.
