UNEMPLOYMENT RATES DROPPED IN A MAJORITY OF COUNTIES ACROSS TENNESSEE IN SEPTEMBER ACCORDING TO THE LATEST DATA RELEASED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT. SEPTEMBER UNEMPLOYMENT RATES WERE LOWER IN 88 COUNTIES ACROSS THE STATE WHILE RATES INCREASED IN 6 COUNTIES AND REMAINED THE SAME IN 1. WILLIAMSON COUNTY HAD THE LOWEST PERCENTAGE AT 2.3% WHILE PERRY COUNTY HAD THE HIGHEST AT 8.4% AND MAURY COUNTY WAS SECOND HIGHEST WITH 6.1%. LAWRENCE COUNTY CAME IN AT 4.4%, MARSHALL COUNTY WAS AT 5.2%, LEWIS COUNTY AT 6%, GILES COUNTY WAS AT 4.3%, AND WAYNE COUNTY WAS AT 3.6%.
