A HIGH SPEED POLICE CHASE LANDS A CULLMAN MAN IN JAIL AND FACING KIDNAPPING CHARGES.  ACCORDING TO THE TIMES DAILY, THE PURSUIT BEGAN AROUND 1 PM SUNDAY WHEN A STATE TROOPER ATTEMPTED TO STOP CURTIS BAKLEY, 29, FOR SPEEDING ON ALABAMA 24.  VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS WERE INVOLVED IN THE PURSUIT INCLUDING FRANKLIN COUNTY AUTHORITIES WHO BECAME INVOLVED AS IT APPROACHED RUSSELVILLE.  OFFICERS WERE QUICK TO DISCOVER THAT BAKELY WAS NOT ALONE AND THAT HIS FEMALE PASSENGER, WHO WAS BAKELY'S FORMER GIRLFRIEND, WAS BEING HELD AGAINST HER WILL, AS SHE HELD UP A NOTE ASKING FOR HELP.    BAKELY ALLEGEDLY TOOK THE FEMALE FROM HER RESIDENCE IN MORGAN COUNTY.  THE CHASE ENDED TWO MILES EAST OF TREMONT, MISSISSIPPI.  BAKELY IS CURRENTLY BEING HELD IN THE FRANKLIN COUNTY JAIL WITHOUT BAIL AND FACES FIRST DEGREE KIDNAPPING AND FIRST DEGREE ASSAULT OF A LAW OFFICER AFTER HITTING A PATROL CAR.
