COLUMBIA POLICE DEPARTMENT HAS MADE AN ARREST IN THE DECEMBER 2016 HIT AND RUN DEATH OF A 50 YEAR OLD COLUMBIA MAN.  ACCORDING TO THE DAILY HERALD, MARCUS RYAN DILMORE, 35, WAS ARRESTED ON MONDAY, TEN MONTHS AFTER THE INCIDENT IN WHICH HE ALLEGEDLY STRUCK JAMES MEALER AS HE WAS RIDING HIS BIKE ON THE 200 BLOCK OF RIVERSIDE DRIVE. MEALER SUFFERED EXTENSIVE INJURIES AND WAS TREATED BY MEDICAL PERSONNEL BUT LATER DIED. DILMORE IS BEING CHARGED WITH VEHICLE HOMICIDE BY RECKLESSNESS, LEAVING THE SCENE, FAILURE TO REPORT INVOLVING DEATH, DUI AND VIOLATION OF TENNESSEE IMPLIED LAW. HE IS CURRENTLY IN THE MAURY COUNTY JAIL ON A $100,000 BOND.
