OPENING STATEMENTS WERE PRESENTED MONDAY IN THE TRAIL OF ZACH ADAMS, THE MAN ACCUSED OF KILLING HOLLY BOBO.  JURORS HEARD FROM A HOST OF WITNESSES INCLUDE BOBO’S FATHER AND MOTHER, WHO PASSED OUT ON THE STAND.  CO-DEFENDANT JASON AUTRY TOLD THE PROSECUTION THAT ADAMS HAD CONFESSED TO HIM RAPING AND THEN KILLING BOBO AFTER SHE WENT MISSING FROM HER DECATUR COUNTY HOME IN 2011.  AUTRY INDICATED THAT BOBO’S BODY WAS WRAPPED IN A BLANKET AND LOADED INTO ADAMS’ PICK-UP TRUCK WITH THE INTENTION THE REMAINS WOULD BE DUMPED IN THE RIVER.  AUTRY EXPLAINED HIS BELIEF THE VICTIM’S WAS ALREADY DECEASED AND DESIRED TO GUT THE BODY TO ENSURE IT DIDN’T FLOAT.  BEFORE THE MEN COULD DISPOSE OF BOBO, SHE MADE A SOUND WHICH ALLEGEDLY PROMPTED ADAMS TO GET HIS GUN AND SHOOT HER IN THE HEAD.  AUTRY ALSO TOLD INVESTIGATORS WHERE TO FIND THE GUN USED IN THE MURDER.  BOBO’S REMAINS WERE EVENTUALLY FOUND IN 2014.  THE TRIAL CONTINUES TUESDAY IN HARDIN COUNTY.
