Lari White, best known for the '90s Top 10 hits "That's My Baby," "Now I Know," and "That's How You Know (When You're in Love)," has announced an ongoing battle with cancer.
A letter from White published in November explained the singer’s ordeal, which began with a persistent upset stomach. Exploratory surgery to diagnose the problem unfortunately resulted in the worst news.
The 52-year-old singer writes, “The surgery revealed advanced Peritoneal Cancer.. Since then a series of complications including pain management, pneumonia and a bowel obstruction requiring emergency surgery has kept me in and out of the hospital fighting for my life. This is, of course, my focus for the foreseeable future.”
White also related that she will be facing chemotherapy and additional surgery through 2018, which will keep her mostly bedridden as she battles the disease.
A GoFundMe account has been established to help with White’s hospital bills.
